TOUR POSTPONED (2020)

Exit Music (For Our World)

It is the 28th of August. The time is 9.03am. There are 104 days left. Almost everyone has given up.

Adrienne, a fourteen year old girl, has not. Whilst alternatives to impending demise perished long ago, she dreams of saving it in whatever way possible. In one final attempt to thank the world for what was, and apologize for what could have been, she embarks on a journey to serenade the world in one final postlude of gratitude.

Exit Music (For Our World) is a piece of new writing by Anna Doyle exploring the impending consequences of climate change.

From There We Saw The Stars (Inferno) (2019)

In 1308 Dante began his journey into hell. 711 years later the time has come to retrace his steps.

Using the epic poem The Divine Comedy as an investigatory spring-board, war/war/war begins an expedition through the nine circles of hell, hoping to emerge with a new understanding of condemnation in the contemporary world. Just what does it mean to be condemned? Where do our souls go? And can we be saved?

From There We Saw The Stars (Inferno) is a devised piece exploring how our ever-changing understanding of spirituality, sin and souls morphs the world around us.

People Are Happy on Trains (2019)

People are Happy on Trains is the product of a conversation between playwright Anna Doyle and her gran, Kay about what it’s like to lose the person you love most in the world. The play follows four passengers on a train from Glasgow to Edinburgh, trying to navigate the overwhelming vacuities of lost love.

WOYZECK (2019)

Have you ever wondered what perpetuates the perennial tragedy of human jealousy? Have you ever considered the consequences of the unjust social structure which frames our lives? Have you ever wondered what would happen to someone if they ate nothing but peas? Franz Woyzeck may have found the answers.
